Hard water happens naturally as certain water sources (particularly underground ones) absorb minerals from their environment. It’s a pain in the rear end because it leaves mineral deposits which could eventually block the flow of water in your pipes. It also reacts to soaps and cleaners, thus limiting their ability to clean properly and attracting mold and germs.
